Vodafone has committed investments totalling Rs. 6,000 crore for capacity augmentation and new business initiatives in Maharashtra. The investment was committed by Sunil Sood, Vodafone India’s MD and CEO, at the Make in India summit.
Vodafone will use the funds to upgrade its technology centre in Pune to develop products in engineering and IT. The company is also setting up a tier 4 data centre in Airoli, near Mumbai. Vodafone will invest in setting up a payment bank headquartered in Mumbai.
