Solargise starts commercial operation, to build 2 GW plants - Feedback

Solargise India Pvt Ltd today launched commercial operations and unveiled plans to develop 2 GW of solar power plants in the next four years, entailing investments of Rs 12,000 crore.

“We will be invest around Rs 1,000 crore on our production facility and expect manufacturing capacity to touch 500 MW (per annum) by next year,” Solargise Executive Chairman Raj Basu said after the launch. Solargise, the arm of UK-based Solargise Ltd, is setting up manufacturing plants for 500 MW of Solar Photovoltaic Cells and 500 MW of third generation Solar Photovoltaic modules with patented technology. The state-of-the-art manufacturing plants will be set up in Dabaspet Industrial Area, Bengaluru, the company said, adding that the facility will house climate chamber for module reliability testing and Research & Development centre for energy storage solutions, the first of its kind in India.
