Pharmaceutical sector has emerged as a pioneer in attracting most of the investments in the state ahead of Global Investors’ Summit (GIS). Some fresh investment proposals fallen into the kitty of the state government are mainly from pharmaceutical, automobile and food processing sectors.
“A giant pharmaceutical firm has proposed to invest Rs 600 crore for setting up a manufacturing unit. Besides this a lot many investment proposals have come for various other sectors,” said an official from Trade and Investment Facilitation Corporation Limited (TRIFAC).The details about the pharmaceutical firm are expected to be revealed during GIS. Another existing pharmaceutical firm Lupin has proposed to expand its operation in the state, the official said. While talking to media persons, the state industry minister Rajendra Shukla said, “Tata Boeing Aerospace has shown interest in setting up their facility in the state and have seen land near airport at Bhopal and Indore.”
