The Kerala government has earmarked an amount of Rs 50 crore for the airport extension of the Seaport-Airport Road which is expected to provide impetus to the critical thoroughfare that holds the key to decongesting the Edappally-Kundannoor NH Bypass and the Edappally-Angamaly NH 47 corridor.
The Roads and Bridges Development Corporation of Kerala (RBDCK), which owns and maintains the road, is also expected to widen the Bharat Matha College-Collectorate Junction corridor into four lane, as part of the project to decongest the road. The project is expected to cost Rs 28 crore. Construction of the five km long NAD-Asoka-Mahilalayam Road is expected to commence soon. The project is likely to cost Rs 280 crore.
