The equity and commodity broking company Inditrade Capital Ltd., which is making a foray into agri commodity financing through its subsidiary JRG Fincorp, plans to scale up the loan book to Rs 300 to 400 crore. JRG Fincorp has a net worth of Rs 100 crore.
Sudip Bandyopadhyay, the new promoter of the company, said there is huge opportunity in lending against agri commodities. “The total commodity business in the country will be to the tune of Rs 10 lakh crore, half of which is being funded. The banks and other public institutions contribute around Rs 75,000 crore while the rest is done by private players,” he said.
