IKEA inks pact with Gujarat to launch stores – Feedback

IKEA, the Swedish home furnishings chain, has entered a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of Gujarat for setting up stores and is expected to make an investment of Rs.3,000 crore.

IKEA had earlier signed MoUs with Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana to set up retail stores.The company intends to open 25 stores by 2025 in nine Indian cities. As per the MoU with the government of Gujarat the agreement stands for mutual commitment from both parties and intends to provide clarity on working methods and a suitable business environment.
