Hindustan Petroleum lets contract for Visakh refinery - Feedback

Hindustan Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (HPCL) has let a contract to Larsen & Toubro Ltd. to provide work on an integrated effluent treatment plant (IETP) as part of HPCL’s previously announced program to expand and modernize its 8.3 million-tonne/year Vishakhapatnam (Visakh) refinery in Andhra Pradesh on India’s southeastern coast (OGJ Online, Mar. 21, 2017).

Larsen & Toubro will deliver engineering, procurement, and construction for the IETP project, covering all modern technologies related to oil removal from refinery effluent, including the sequencing batch reactors (SBR)-based treatment of 1,000 cu m/hr of refinery effluent, membrane bioreactor-(MBR)-based sewage treatment system, wet air oxidation-based spent caustic treatment system, and volatile organic compound control system,.
