The $1.3-billion auto parts major JBM Group plans to invest Rs. 300 crore to expand and set up new plants in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. JBM Group’s Executive Director Nishanth Arya told BusinessLine that the expansion plan will involve setting up new manufacturing lines.
The group has over 20,000 employees and 35 manufacturing plants across the country. It also has four engineering and design centres. In South India, it has over 7,000 employees and 10 manufacturing plants. The group supplies auto parts such as chassis suspension, fuel filters, body panels, exhaust systems to companies such as Daimler, Toyota Kirloskar, Renault, TVS and other auto manufacturers. “Revenue share from the South has increased to 25 per cent from about 10 per cent three-four years ago,” Arya said.
