115 cities launch water supply and sewerage projects under AMRUT – Feedback

A total of 115 cities have launched water supply and sewerage projects under PM Narendra Modi’s Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme, at a cost of Rs 6,346 crore.

The AMRUT scheme aims at urban renewal projects and at ensuring adequate sewerage networks and water supply in urban areas. With an investment of Rs 6,571 crore, 490 projects have been undertaken under the AMRUT scheme. It includes 102 projects to ensure water supply connectivity to all households as well as to enable water supply at the standard 135 ltr per head, per day in 76 cities, at a total expenditure of Rs 3,474crore, It also includes forty one sewerage management projects to improve water supply in 39 mission cities at a expenditure of Rs 2,878 crore.
