Coolberg, which claims to be India’s first crafted zero-alcohol beer brand, is expanding its reach from 2,000 outlets now to 10 times this number in 2019. Available in glass bottles, the company is also set to launch the non-alcoholic beer in cans.

Kaveri Seeds, one of the top 5 seed producers in the country, has opened a corn cob drying facility at Molangur in Karimnagar district of Telangana. The firm invested Rs. 20 crore on building the facility at its 15-acre integrated seed conditioning and packing facility.

Tata Coffee’s $50-million freeze-dried coffee plant, which was inaugurated in Vietnam last week, is expected to start production at full capacity within the first couple of years, fuelled by demand from Eastern Europe, East Asia (Japan and Korea) and EU markets.

Britannia Industries, India’s biggest biscuit maker, plans to enter the Rs 24,000 crore per annum salty snacks market, which is dominated by Haldiram’s and Pepsico. It plans to launch salty snacks under its existing brand Time Pass by next month as part of a strategy to expand to non-biscuit segments.

Fresh fruit importing firm IG International is importing 130 MT different varieties of blueberries to the metro cities for its urban Indian consumers.  These fruits are being imported for consumption majorly in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Ahmedabad, among other cities.

Indian restaurant chain Lite Bite Foods has acquired four brands from Bellona Hospitality, the food and beverages arm of Phoenix Mills Group, for an undisclosed amount. Lite Bite Foods, confirmed the acquisition — the first by the chain — but declined to give the deal size.

An industrial park at Gopalpur off the coast of south Odisha, where Tata Steel SEZ is the anchor tenant, has bagged fresh investment. The latest investment intent is from an edible oil company. The investment is estimated at Rs 300 crore and the plant will have a capacity of 396,000 tonnes per annum.
