Pune-based Scorpius Trackers, promoted by entrepreneurs Shailesh Vaidya and Kiran Shah, has inked memorandum of understandings (MoUs) with three undisclosed entities, which are independently working to put up a combined solar capacity of 1,250 MW.
Under the agreement, the Pune-based company will provide tracker solutions to them. Typically, these single-axis trackers — electro-mechanical devices — allow solar panels to track the sun from sunrise to sunset. One can re-orient the solar module accordingly to improve power output. “Such tracking increases power production by over 20 per cent, depending on tracker configuration,’’ said Mr. Vaidya. Scorpius Trackers has initialled MoUs with an independent power producer (IPP), an EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contractor, and a large open-access solar park developer.
