Rel Infra arm ties up with US firm for oil field services – Feedback

Reliance Defence & Engineering, a subsidiary of Anil Ambani-led Reliance Infrastructure on Friday announced a tie-up with US-based Allrig for a pie of an estimated Rs 7,000 crore market for servicing onshore and offshore installations in India and southeast Asian region.

The partnership would develop a one-stop shop for servicing and repairing rigs and other installations used by oil companies at the company’s shipyard at Pipavav in Gujarat.
Establishment of such a facility in India would particularly save costs for domestic oil companies as they would save time and money spent on repairs and refurbishments that are currently carried out in Singapore or Dubai. The joint venture will also provide solutions like spares, repairs, upgrade and warranty support for critical equipment for older assets where support from original equipment manufacturer is not feasible.
