German luxury car maker Mercedes- Benz today launched S 400 sedan in India priced at Rs 1.31 crore (ex-showroom Hyderabad) as it looks to further strengthen its position in the country. The company, which has introduced the model in Hyderabad to start with, plans to locally produce the vehicle at its Chakan plant in Pune.
“With the launch of the S 400, we further extend the S-Class model range and also bolster our strong presence in the prestigious S-Class segment,” Mercedes-Benz India Managing Director and CEO Roland Folger said in a statement. Mercedes-Benz believes in introducing the latest products and variants in the market at regular intervals, to keep customer interest and curiosity intact in the brand, he said. “This strategy we firmly believe has contributed to our unmatched success in India,” Folger added.
