Indian food service market jumped 11% to cross $100 billion sales in 2015 – Feedback

Leading quick-service restaurant companies such as Yum, Dominos and McDonalds may have reported consistent decline in same-store sales growth throughout 2015, but the overall food service market in India jumped 11 per cent to cross $100 billion in sales, according to Euromonitor International. In terms of transactions, 125 crore Indians purchased food more than once a week.

Full service restaurants are sit-down places with focus on food rather than on drink, characterised by table services (outlets with a proper “full table services” wait staff attending customers and taking orders at the tables). Compared to quick-service units, they offer relatively higher quality food. Menu may include breakfast, lunch and dinner.
