The Australian government is committed to Adani’s Carmichael mine Annastacia Palaszczuk MP Premier and Minister for the Arts said in the Australian Parliament on Thursday.
The government is committed because it has conformed to some 200-odd conditioned put by them and it would protect the environment in the region. Australia is also in favour of the project because it would offer jobs to Queenslander on a priority basis. According to the speech presented by Palaszczuk a copy of which is available with ET, the Australian Government is committed to development of Queensland’s energy resources – from coal, gas and renewable sources. Palaszczuk has scheduled a meeting next week with Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani and senior representatives of the company. The focus of the meeting with Adani will be to secure a commitment to regional Queensland jobs.
